Gilchrist County Schools utilize federal funds under Title II, Part A to support supplements that provide Reading Coaches.  Funds also support the purchase of supplementary reading, science, and math materials that enhance student learning.  Professional development activities for teachers and principals are facilitated through this project, and tuition support encourages teachers to become highly qualified.  In addition, funds are used to further reduce the teacher to student ratio in schools that:

-have the highest teacher to student ratio

-have been identified as "in need of improvement"

or

-have the highest number of courses taught by non-highly qualified teachers
